Senator Natasha Overpowers Akpabio As She Storm Senate With Supporters To Resume Office
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has officially resumed duties at the National Assembly after weeks of suspension.
The lawmaker stormed the Senate complex on Tuesday with a crowd of jubilant supporters, marking her return to legislative business.

Her office, which had previously been sealed following her suspension, was reopened earlier this week, paving the way for her resumption.
Addressing journalists shortly after gaining access to her office, Senator Natasha declared that no senator holds superiority over another, stressing that she would not be intimidated by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
“It is good to put institutions to the test; no one is more Nigerian than us. Senator Akpabio is not more of a senator than I am, yet he treated me like I was his servant. We cannot cower in the face of injustice,” she said.

Natasha further noted that despite what she described as an “illegal suspension,” she continued to carry out her responsibilities to her constituents to ensure Kogi Central was not left behind in national representation.
“Even though I was suspended illegally, I effectively carried out my duties as a senator to Kogi Central because I didn’t want them to suffer neglect,” she added.
Her return has sparked excitement among her supporters and renewed debates on the limits of the Senate President’s powers over members of the red chamber.
