Nollywood star Regina Daniels has sparked widespread speculation about the state of her marriage after publicly referring to Senator Ned Nwoko as her “ex-husband,” suggesting the couple may have quietly gone their separate ways.

In a video shared on her official Instagram page, the actress revealed that her family is currently “in turmoil,” but vowed to stay strong for her children. Daniels stated that she is prepared to raise them with or without Nwoko’s assistance.

“You know that, my ex-husband,” she said in the video. “My family is actually in crisis, it’s crazy, but we will definitely come out of it. What gave me the courage to make this video is seeing how my family and everyone is fighting for me… My brother started a petition and in hours, there were a lot of people signing it.”

Daniels added that she is ready to battle for custody of her children, saying, “I tried to be calm, I tried to let go, but I will fight and take them. I will train them with or without your support.”

Kinsmen Return Bride Price, Accuse Nwoko of Rejecting It

In a new twist, Regina Daniels’ kinsmen have issued an open letter to Senator Nwoko, accusing him of refusing to accept the bride price they returned—a customary requirement when a marriage has ended.

A screenshot of the letter, shared by filmmaker Stanley Ontop, stated that marriage must not be by force and that once a woman no longer wishes to remain in the union, custom allows her family to return the bride price.

According to them, despite completing this requirement, Nwoko declined to accept it. They added that if a husband refuses to collect the bride price, their community has the right to deposit it at a recognized location.

The kinsmen condemned what they described as intimidation and the arrest of Regina’s family members, calling it “oppressive.” They issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Nwoko to acknowledge the returned bride price and ensure the immediate release and safety of all detained relatives.

Allegations of Arrests, Violence, and Domestic Abuse

Kemi Filani earlier reported that Regina had raised alarm on social media, alleging that Nwoko ordered the arrest of her siblings. According to Daniels, the senator wants her “back in his house and back in rehab,” a demand she said she rejected.

In another post, she claimed her brother was “beaten like a criminal” by the police. “What is the violent arrest for?” she asked, alleging that her husband believes his power and wealth place him above accountability.

This controversy comes just days after the actress accused Nwoko of domestic violence. In a viral clip, Daniels broke down in tears, saying she was not treated “like a queen” in her husband’s home.

Nwoko, however, denied the allegations in a public statement, attributing the marital conflict to what he described as Regina’s “struggle with drugs and alcohol abuse.” He also accused her of violent behavior towards domestic staff and destruction of property — claims strongly rejected by her family.

Her younger sister, Destiny Daniels, shared photos of injuries allegedly inflicted on the actress, insisting there was no reconciliation between the couple.
