RCCG’s pastor, who represented INEC at the 2023 presidential tribunal, rewarded with appointment as INEC acting director of ICT

 

Pastor Lawrence Bayode of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has reportedly been appointed as the acting director of ICT at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja.

 

Bayode, according to an independent investigative news platform, PIDOMNIGERIA, is expected to be confirmed by the Nigerian senate in a few months as substantive Director of ICT.

 

PIDOMNIGERIA went on to reveal that Bayode who defended the BVAS, transmission of results, and the irev portal, while representing INEC at the 2023 presidential election petition tribunal as a Deputy Director, and on National Television when confirmed, will be the one to coordinate the BVAS, transmission of election results, and the IREV portal in 2027 presidential elections.

He wrote: “Just like I informed you earlier, RCCG’s pastor, Lawrence Bayode who lied barefacely to Nigerians about BVAS, transmission of results, and the irev portal, while representing INEC at the 2023 presidential election petition tribunal as a Deputy Director, and on National Television has been rewarded with appointment, as the new acting Director of ICT, at the INEC’s headquarters in Abuja, with assurance to be confirmed in few months as substantive Director of ICT. He will be the one to coordinate the BVAS, transmission of election results, and the irev portal in 2027.”

 

“To pave the way for Pastor Lawrence Bayode, who is a junior director, to attain that juicy office, INEC had to transfer 3 senior directors out of the headquarters. Two amongst the 3 senior directors who were qualified and next in line to be appointed as substantive director of ICT after the retirement of the last director three weeks ago are Igbos. But they were all transferred out of the headquarters to states, just to open the space for Pastor Lawrence Bayode.”

“Since he wasn’t qualified to be appointed as the substantive Director of ICT at the INEC’S headquarters, they decided to bring him on board, on acting capacity, since there are no senior directors above him at the INEC’S headquarters anymore. And there must not be a vacuum in that office. But it’s all the game plan for 2027.”

He will be confirmed anytime soon.
