The President has directed the commencement of a 90-day pre-retirement leave for the Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz.
According to the information released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the retirement leave for Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz will take effect from August 24, 2023, leading to his eventual retirement from service on November 24, 2023. This move aims to pave the way for new leadership and fresh perspectives within the NIMC.

Tinubu Appoints Bisoye Coker-Odusote as NIMC DG
In response to these changes, President Tinubu has also approved the appointment of Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General/CEO of the NIMC for a 90-day period. This appointment will become effective on August 24, 2023. After the interim period, Bisoye Coker-Odusote will begin a full four-year term as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO, starting from November 24, 2023. These appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition of leadership and sustained excellence in the National Identity Management Commission.
