BREAKING: PDP Chieftain and Wike’s Ally, Chief Dan Orbih, Is Dead

Chief Dan Orbih, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has died.

Orbih reportedly passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026.

His family announced his death in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih on behalf of the Orbih family.

The family described his death as a painful loss, saying the news was received with deep sadness while acknowledging it as part of God’s will.

The statement also appealed to friends, associates and well-wishers to remember the family in their prayers as they mourn the veteran politician.

Orbih was a prominent figure in the PDP and played an active role in the party’s political activities and affairs over the years. He was also widely regarded as an ally of Wike, with whom he shared political ties.

His death is expected to elicit reactions from members of the PDP, political associates and other figures who worked with him throughout his political career.

The late politician is survived by his wife, Florence Orbih, and his children, Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr Mildred Omonemi Orbih. He is also survived by his siblings and other members of his extended family.
