BREAKING: NDDC Debunks Viral Claims on Allocation of 150 Keke NAPEPs, 200 Mini Buses in Cross River

 

 

 

The Cross River State Office of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating online claiming that the Commission has approved the distribution of 150 Keke NAPEPs and 200 mini buses as a statewide empowerment programme for Cross Riverians.

 

In a press statement issued from its Calabar office, the Commission clarified that the information being circulated does not reflect the true position of the agency.

According to the statement, the planned distribution of economic empowerment items is being carried out pursuant to budgetary provisions facilitated by the Senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District.

 

The Commission further explained that the actual number of items to be distributed has not yet been finalized, noting that figures currently making the rounds are speculative and should be disregarded.

 

“The final number of items to be distributed is still being determined, subject to supply considerations,” the statement noted.

 

The NDDC also disclosed that the programme is being implemented in collaboration with other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), stressing that it is not an exclusive initiative of the Commission alone.

 

The agency urged members of the public to ignore misleading publications and rely only on verified information released through official NDDC communication channels.

 

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and equitable development, the Commission said it remains focused on delivering impactful economic empowerment initiatives across communities in Cross River State and the wider Niger Delta region.
