Jubilation in Kaduna as tribunal sacks APC governor, declares governorship election inconclusive
The Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Kaduna State has sacked Governor Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress and ordered a fresh election in four local government areas of the state.
The Tribunal ruled that the inability of INEC to upload results on IREV in real-time gave room for result manipulation by APC
The tribunal said the election was inconclusive and ordered fresh election in seven wards of the four LGAs.
The Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal delivered the judgment in the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Isah Ashiru.
The three-man panel led by Justice Victor Oviawe delivered the ruling.
They had earlier affirmed that the petition was filed on April 10, 2023, thereby dismissing the argument of Governor Sani – the second respondent. A rerun has also been ordered.
The Tribunal has ordered INEC to conduct fresh polls within 90 days between Uba Sani of APC and Isah Ashiru of PDP.
