The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded the National Assembly candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Cross River State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The list, now reflected in the commission’s candidate information, contains three senatorial candidates and eight House of Representatives candidates across the state’s federal constituencies.

APC House of Representatives Candidates

For the House of Representatives, the APC candidates are:

8. Rt. Hon. Joseph Bassey — Calabar South/Akpabuyo/Bakassi Federal Constituency

The development is expected to settle some of the uncertainty surrounding the APC’s National Assembly lineup in Cross River State following the party’s primary elections and subsequent return-ticket battles.

News Week Nigeria (NWN) reports that some serving federal lawmakers and aspirants seeking re-election could not secure the party’s tickets after losing their respective return-ticket contests.

Among the serving lawmakers who reportedly lost their return tickets are Senator Eteng Williams, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District; Mike Etaba, representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency; Godwin Offiono, representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency; Bassey Akiba, representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency; and Emily Inyang, representing Akampka/Biase Federal Constituency.

Their exclusion from the uploaded list marks a significant shift in the APC’s National Assembly representation from Cross River State ahead of the 2027 elections.
