The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that the party is intensifying its efforts to expand its influence across the Southwest, with a particular focus on Osun and Oyo states.
This statement came shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the APC’s victory in the Ondo State governorship election.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the party’s candidate, secured a resounding win with 366,781 votes, defeating Ajayi Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who trailed with 117,845 votes.
Speaking to journalists in Akure on Sunday, Ganduje expressed confidence in the APC’s ability to consolidate its dominance in the region.

“Our next target is this geo-political zone, the Southwest geo-political zone, and you know we are good in hitting our targets. That is Osun State and Oyo State,” he said.
“We assure you that we will do all what is possible to bring them into the fold so that we have political homogeneity in the Southwest geo-political zone.”
The APC’s victory in Ondo is seen as a significant milestone for the party, solidifying its grip on the region.

However, Osun and Oyo, currently under the control of the PDP, remain critical battlegrounds in the party’s quest for regional dominance.
