BREAKING: Fubara Storms Delta State for PDP Governors’ Meeting [PHOTOS]

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reportedly arrived in Asaba, Delta State, to attend a meeting of governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The PDP, Nigeria’s main opposition party, currently controls 12 out of the country’s 36 states.

Although the body in a statement recently condemned the action by the presidency, today’s meeting is expected to address key political developments, including the recent declaration of emergency rule in Rivers State.

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu suspended Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He also appointed retired Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, as the state’s sole administrator.

The National Assembly ratified the emergency rule on Thursday after deliberations in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
