Dino Melaye Defeats Wike’s Candidate To Win PDP Governorship Primary in Kogi
Senator Dino Melaye has emerged winner of the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State.
The former senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district was announced winner of the election by the returning Officer on Sunday.

According to result from the Kogi governorship primary, Dino Melaye scored 313 votes ahead of Idoko Ilonah, who polled 124 votes
Other results saw Awoniyi Sunday score 77 votes, while Musa Wada polled 56 votes
A total of 27 aspirants had declared interest to contest the primaries in the state, including former senator Attai Aidoko, Kebiru Usman, Abdullahi Haruna, and Zakaria Alfa.

Dino Melaye is purportedly supported by former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
His win is coming less than a week after Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State declared him unfit to become governor.
Wike is said to have supported Idoko Idah, who lost to Dino.
