BREAKING: Confusion as Oyo APC Governorship Candidate Sharafadeen Alli, Wearing Tinubu-Signed Cap, Declares Support for Makinde’s APM

There was confusion among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State after the party’s governorship candidate, Sharafadeen Alli, appeared to declare support for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), the political platform associated with incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde.

Alli made the declaration during an APC event attended by party members and supporters, where he was seen chanting “APM” repeatedly.

In the viral video, the APC candidate held a microphone and wore a cap bearing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s signature when he made the controversial declaration.

In the viral video circulating on social media obtained by News Week Nigeria, some of his supporters at the event corrected him, but Alli repeated the APM slogan several times.

The declaration has also generated reactions among party members, with some questioning whether Alli’s repeated reference to APM was simply a slip of the tongue or an indication of support for another political platform.

The development is particularly notable as Governor Seyi Makinde is seeking to retain his political structure in the state’s governorship contest, while the APC is fielding its own candidate to challenge the incumbent.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official clarification from Alli or the Oyo State APC explaining the repeated APM declaration.
