Charly Boy Declares #EndBadGovernance Protest a ‘Child’s Play,’ says unannounced revolution coming

As the #EndBadGovernance protest draws to a close today, August 10, 2024, renowned entertainer and political activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has issued a dire warning about the state of the nation.

The protest, which began on August 1, saw thousands of Nigerians take to the streets, decrying the state of governance in the country. However, Charly Boy has described the ten-day hunger strike as merely a “dress rehearsal” for what he predicts will be a much larger and more violent uprising.

Taking to his verified X handle, @AreaFada1, on Friday night, August 9, Charly Boy declared that the true revolution would be “unannounced” and far more chaotic than the current protests.

He emphasized that the struggle against bad leadership in Nigeria would require a significant upheaval, one that would not be televised but would leave destruction and blood in its wake.

“It will take A Revolution To find A Solution to bad leadership,” Charly Boy wrote. “I see the August 1st to 10th as a dress rehearsal to the main event. The main event will be Unannounced. It will be madder than we can ever Imagine. The REVOLUTION will not be Televised. Destruction and Blood will line in its wake. Hopefully, it will be The Outcome That Will Bring The SOLUTION.”

His latest statements reflect growing frustration among many Nigerians who feel that the country’s leadership has failed to address issues such as corruption, poverty, and insecurity
