Hon. Jamilu, who represents the Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency, announced his defection on Thursday, citing the PDP’s failure to function as a viable and coordinated opposition party.
In a statement made available to reporters, the lawmaker expressed disappointment in the direction the PDP has taken in recent times, saying it no longer offers a platform for credible opposition or democratic accountability.

“The PDP has failed to live up to its responsibilities as the main opposition party in the country. What we have now is a disjointed structure that has abandoned the people and its founding principles,” Hon. Jamilu said.
His move to the ADC is part of a growing trend among lawmakers and political stakeholders seeking alternatives to the two dominant parties—PDP and APC—amid internal crises and a perceived disconnect with the electorate.
