BREAKING: Adeleke Floors APC, Wins 20 LGAs Out of 30 in Osun

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has widened his lead over the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced results from 20 of the 30 local government areas in the Osun State governorship election.

Figures announced at the Osun State governorship election collation centre showed Adeleke with 365,922 votes, while Oyebamiji had 287,695 votes, giving the incumbent governor a lead of 78,227 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, was a distant third with 9,124 votes across the 20 local government areas.

Adeleke’s lead was boosted by strong performances in several key local government areas, including Ede North, Ede South, Osogbo, Iwo and Ife East.

In Ede North, the governor secured an emphatic 35,427 votes, against Oyebamiji’s 10,283, representing a margin of 25,144 votes.

Adeleke also dominated Ede South with 26,188 votes, while the APC candidate polled 6,219 votes.

In Osogbo, Adeleke recorded 36,480 votes against Oyebamiji’s 30,474. He also won Iwo with 27,085 votes to the APC candidate’s 19,660.

In Ife East, Adeleke polled 27,201 votes, while Oyebamiji secured 18,600 votes.

The incumbent governor also emerged victorious in Ife North, Boluwaduro, Ilesha West, Ifedayo, Ife Central, Orolu, Oriade, Odo Otin, Ifelodun and Atakumosa West.

Oyebamiji, however, recorded victories in some local government areas, indicating that the APC remains competitive in parts of the state.

The APC candidate won Ilesha East with 16,208 votes against Adeleke’s 12,280. He also secured Boripe, where he polled 19,963 votes to Adeleke’s 12,448.

Oyebamiji further won Irepodun with 15,713 votes against Adeleke’s 14,504, and Obokun, where he recorded 16,120 votes to the governor’s 12,023.

Despite the APC’s gains in some areas, Oyebamiji has been unable to close the gap, with Adeleke maintaining an advantage of more than 78,000 votes after results from 20 LGAs.

With results from 10 local government areas still outstanding, the final outcome could yet shift depending on the remaining figures. However, Adeleke currently enters the final stage of collation with a substantial numerical advantage over his closest challenger.
