In a statement personally signed on Friday, Abure accused Obi of inconsistency and a lack of political commitment, claiming he frequently switches allegiance to suit his ambitions.

“He has made himself into a political paradox—unwilling to stand firmly on any decision or platform,” Abure said. “Today, Obi has become known for elevating political gamesmanship and crying foul where there is none.”

Abure even quipped that the former Anambra governor could qualify for a Guinness World Record for his alleged ability to maintain ties with multiple political parties at the same time — all in pursuit of the presidency.

The LP chieftain’s remarks come after Obi publicly urged his “Obidient” supporters to vote for African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in the August 16 by-elections scheduled across several states.
