BREAKING: 28 Senators, 46 Reps, 50 State Assembly Members Join ADC as Party Gains National Momentum
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has made major political strides ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the party confirming the defection of 28 sitting senators, 46 members of the House of Representatives, and over 50 state assembly lawmakers to its fold.
This was revealed by the party’s founder and pioneer National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu, during the ADC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday.

Nwosu credited the growing influence of the ADC to its principled stance against what he described as “financial inducements” aimed at compromising its role as a viable opposition force. “While others try to buy influence, ADC leaders stood firm,” he declared. “Today, we have 28 senators, 46 members in the House of Representatives, and over 50 members in State Houses of Assembly. In total, the ADC now has more than 100 elected officials.”
The surge in support comes as the ADC positions itself at the heart of a growing opposition coalition aimed at unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027. According to political analysts, the influx of lawmakers into the party is a strong signal of changing allegiances and dissatisfaction with the status quo.
Nwosu attributed the party’s rising profile to its unwavering commitment to democratic values and its resistance to the emergence of a one-party system in the country. He also noted that the party’s online membership platform has experienced a dramatic spike in registrations, prompting system upgrades to manage the influx.

In his remarks, ADC’s Interim National Chairman, Sen. David Mark, praised party members and stakeholders for their resilience and loyalty, assuring that the party will continue to uphold the principles of transparency, equity, and inclusiveness.
Mark also announced plans to establish a 50-member Policy Committee to craft a detailed governance blueprint for the party. The committee will cover key sectors including education, health, technology, national security, and infrastructure development.
Further outlining the party’s reform agenda, Mark reiterated the ADC’s dedication to internal democracy, revealing that the party is adopting structural reforms that include 35 percent affirmative action for women and increased youth representation.

“The ADC remains the political platform that truly represents all Nigerians, regardless of age, gender, religion, or region,” Mark emphasized.
