Atiku Loses Out as ADC Fails to Field Candidate in Adamawa Assembly Election
The Action Democratic Congress (ADC) has failed to present a candidate for the upcoming Adamawa State House of Assembly bye-election in Ganye Local Government Area, a development seen as a political blow to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who hails from the area.
According to the official list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), only five political parties successfully submitted candidates for the contest.

Conspicuously absent from the list is the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), a party with which Atiku Abubakar has recently been associated. The former Vice President, who is from Jada in Ganye LGA, has been speculated in political circles to be quietly aligning with the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sources within the party disclosed to this newspaper that the failure to field a candidate stems from ongoing internal wrangling and leadership disputes within the ADC. “The party is in disarray,” a party official who asked not to be named said. “The leadership crisis has made it impossible to meet INEC’s deadline for candidate nominations.”
