APC Wins 15 States, PDP Takes 6 As Kwankwaso’s NNPP Clinches Kano
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has, on March 20, 2023, released more results of the governorship election held on March 18, 2023.
The results saw some chosen candidates of most governors losing the seat to opposition parties.

According to the results declared as of 10 pm on Monday, All Progressives Congress (APC) won the governorship polls in 15 states while People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won six guber seats with New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) winning one state.
The States won by APC were Sokoto, Katsina, Jigawa, Gombe, Lagos, Kwara, Niger, Yobe, Nasarawa, Cross River, Ebonyi, Ogun, Benue, Kaduna and Borno.

The Peoples Democratic Party, on the other hand, had won Plateau, Bauchi, Oyo, Delta, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom states while the New Nigeria Peoples Party clinched Kano State.

Meanwhile, the results of the election in Abia and Enugu States were postponed as a result of conflict between the Labour Party and the PDP on issues trailing the election in some local government areas.

INEC, however, has suspended further collation of the governorship election results to review the process of the contentious balloting in parts of the two states.
