APC Raises Alarm, Accuses ADC of Secretly Inserting Nine of Its Members into Newly Released Committee List

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of desperation and foul play after allegedly inserting the names of nine APC members into its newly released State Steering Committee list.

In a statement signed by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi, and made available to News Week Nigeria, the party described the development as “a deliberate attempt to smear the good names of loyal APC members.”

According to Abdullahi, the controversial list was released by the North East National Vice Chairman of the ADC, Engr. Babachir David Lawal. He claimed that several recognized APC members were shocked to find their names included without their knowledge or consent.

The affected individuals were identified as Hon. Paul Samuel (Mubi North), Hon. Jibirilla Adamu Duhu (Mubi North), Hon. Isa Yahaya (Maiha), Hon. Hassan Umaru (Maiha), Hon. Lumsan Dilli (Demsa), Hon. Mathias Ngaro (Demsa), Hon. Isa Halilu (Yola South), Hon. Tawali’u Nathan (Guyuk), and Aminu Kolere (Mayobelwa).

The nine members reportedly visited the APC secretariat in Yola to officially distance themselves from the ADC list and reaffirm their loyalty to the APC.

“The action of the ADC leadership is viewed as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of our loyal party members. This cannot be taken lightly,” Abdullahi stated.

He further criticized the ADC for lacking competent members to run its affairs, accusing the party of “scavenging for members from the blues.”

“This has clearly confirmed that the ADC doesn’t have reliable and trustworthy members. We therefore condemn this offensive action and demand that the ADC retract the list and tender an unreserved apology to our affected members immediately. Failure to do so will compel our party to take legal action,” the statement warned.

Meanwhile, the ADC has reportedly apologized over the incident. One of its stakeholders, Ambassador (Engr.) Omar Suleiman, admitted in a separate statement that the inclusion of the APC members’ names was a mistake.

Suleiman explained that the names were added in error by individuals entrusted with compiling the committee list, and he extended an apology to the affected APC members on behalf of the ADC.
