Anthony Bissong Attah: Living In Delusion Of A Self-Acclaimed Activist And Pathetic Opportunist

Over the years, we have considered politics to be an instrument of unity, service to humanity, and public delivery, as only sound minds were considered relevant around the corridor of powers.

There is a common cliche among the younger generation who are now running into politics, first for recognition, then greed, and a battleground filled with envy which has overtaken their mindsets, leaving them eluded by their self-acclaimed dexterity as voices of the masses, acting as activists in the day time but maintaining their gains as Politicians by nighttime.

Anthony Bissong Attah stands tall in this category; he is a terrible loser. One can liken him to an unfit squad member who the coach doesn’t find worthy to adorn the jersey of the team but instead of cheering his teammates by the touchline, he keeps dragging the goal post far away from his teammates so they don’t score and take any glory, holding on to the popular belief that “Instead Of Bad Market, Make Rain Fall”.

The devil’s advocacy deployed by Attah and his cohort since the 2023 general elections and the recent outcry over the Local Government Elections is bore out of the frustration of a Failed Lawsuit seeking compensation of a whopping 100 MILLION NAIRA for himself and his mushroom Party, The Young People’s Party over alleged Exclusion from the ballot paper or should I say, the nonallotting of votes as though votes were shared like sweet to various political parties.

He wept bitterly when he stated on the 27th of January 2024 as he wrote through his party’s spokesman as follows;

“The leadership of the Young Progressives Party, [YPP] being dissatisfied with the decision of the Cross River State Local Government Councilor Election Tribunal (per Hon. Justice Emmanuel A. Ubua, Chief Magistrate Ekong E. Imona, and Chief Magistrate Vera E. Nsemo) contained in the judgment dated January 21, 2025, does hereby head to the Court of Appeal.

This decision was reached in collaboration with our indefatigable legal team after a painstaking review of the judgment of the lower court.

Meanwhile, we call on our Party members to remain calm and law-abiding while we deploy all known civil approaches to correct our unlawful exclusion in the local government elections in Ikom and Etung LGA, respectively.

Comrade Frederick Eje Omari

State Secretary, YPP CRS.”

We are aware of your tricks and the role you try to assume yourself into, an activist in the day and party man at night; the same can’t be said in terms of developing the political party whose ideology you stand for and its low patronage among young people in Cross River State.

The politics of “Anywhere Belle Face” shouldn’t be for “Veterans” like you, a Whole Chairman of A Political Party with hopes of uniting the State Governor in 2027, a man anointed as “Leader in the political school of violence” shows the desperation you bear without ever proffering solutions to the negating issues you claim to raise, how can wrongs become rights if there are no laid down solutions.

How you have become a searchlight from the hills of Obanliku to the creeks of Bakassi shows how much you have invested in yourself and we wish you taste this power someday and make judicious use of it.

It is high time your fans and followers being misinformed see the true nature and reflection of the greed that eludes you and get the realities of times

We are not unaware of the numerous bids you make and the forceful romance you share with the ruling party, that enough should have members of your party disassociate with you if you were a member. Your desperation is leading you to extortion, and by this, you’re toying the line of hate, character assassination, false claims, accusations, and other numerous ills, making me question the kind of husband/father you are up your innocent wife and kids.

If only you were a known name in CRS politics, a certain CPS wouldn’t mistake you for your outnumbered political party’s candidate. When we begin to live up to expectations and show professionalism in our respective offices, people will address us as such. The CPS wasn’t wrong to have addressed you as your party’s candidate because that’s how much you’ve reduced yourself to, maybe you go learn from the likes of Barr. Alphonsus Eba and even Vena Ikem do not worry about the fee; millions have volunteered to defray all bills.
