A United States missionary, Mike Arnold, has confirmed that the U.S. Air Force has been mobilized and military satellites are currently tracking terrorist movements across Nigeria, following President Donald Trump’s recent declaration of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern.”

Arnold made the revelation in a post on X (formerly Twitter) late Monday, saying that preparations for a possible U.S. military intervention are already underway.

His statement comes shortly after President Trump reportedly ordered the U.S. Department of War to begin readiness procedures for potential military action aimed at combating terrorist groups accused of targeting Christians in Nigeria.

“I’m hearing gossip. Gears are turning. I think we may see real action. Air Force mobilized, possibly Marines. Satellites tracking the terrorists,” Arnold wrote.

“Did Tinubu go to a summit or initiate an escape plan? Nothing confirmed but none of this would surprise me. I told you Trump wasn’t messing around, and with Tinubu’s tone-deaf response, and now flight to South Africa — and with Christian killings ongoing — I would not be surprised to see action very soon. Under these circumstances, a long delay would surprise me even more.”

President Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” followed weeks of online campaigns by several U.S. lawmakers, including Senator Ted Cruz, Representative Nancy Mace, and Mr. Moore, urging the U.S. government to take firm action over alleged religious persecution and rising attacks on Christians.

Senator Cruz, a Republican from Texas, also introduced a bill seeking sanctions against Nigerian public officials accused of enforcing or promoting Sharia and blasphemy laws.

While there has been no official confirmation from the Pentagon regarding military deployment, Arnold’s remarks have fueled speculation that the United States may be considering a direct intervention in Nigeria’s internal security crisis.

The Nigerian government has yet to issue a formal response to Arnold’s claims or to President Trump’s earlier declaration. However, President Bola Tinubu’s reported trip to South Africa amid the escalating diplomatic tension has raised fresh questions about Nigeria’s next line of action.

The situation remains tense as observers await official clarification from both Washington and Abuja regarding the next steps in what could become a significant international development.
