A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Columbus Inyang, has officially joined the race for the Obubra II State Constituency seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Inyang confirmed his decision during a telephone conversation with NWN, stating that he has formally declared his intention to contest for the seat under the platform of the PDP.
The aspirant also disclosed that he obtained his nomination forms at the PDP secretariat in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, in the presence of party leaders and supporters.

Among those who accompanied him during the exercise were Prof. Walter Mboto, Dr. Boypa Egbe, Engr. Elvis Eyam, alongside other prominent stakeholders of the party in Obubra.

His entry into the race is expected to intensify political activities within the constituency as political parties begin early preparations for the 2027 elections.
